After 10 Years – DryGair Wishes Farewell to Ziv Shaked
Ziv Shaked, former VP of Marketing and Sales, has left DryGair, after a decade with the company. Ziv was an integral part of the company’s growth, success, and culture. We would like to take this opportunity to wish him farewell and good luck in all future endeavors.
Joining the company in 2014, only 4 years after its establishment, Shaked played a major role in fostering relationships with customers and distributors around the world. His work was integral in bringing DryGair to widespread adoption in the Dutch horticulture market, as well as the U.S., Canada, and more.
Tour to the Jacob Blaustein Desert Research Institutes
As a celebration of Ziv’s time with DryGair, the entire team went down to Sde Boker in the Negev desert, to visit the Jacob Blaustein Desert Research Institutes. These institutes are a part of Ben Gurion University, where various experiments and trials are held in a desert environment.
The institutes focus on adaptations to warmer, drier climates, as well as studying the desert environment. Some of the experiments we witnessed include a functioning desert vineyard that creates excellent wine, despite the arid conditions, water desalination techniques, and research into the desert earth’s ability to capture carbon and emit water vapor.
Academic Research Is at the Heart of DryGair
Visiting research facilities and taking part in innovative trials and academic research is a part of DryGair’s DNA.
The DryGair system was developed at a similar institute – the Volcani Agricultural Research Organization, by renowned agricultural engineer, Dr. Avi Arbel. As such, taking an interest in new research is a major part of the company’s culture.
The trip to Sde Boker was not only interesting, but the ideal way to say farewell to Ziv. He will always be a part of the DryGair family, and we wish him a lot of luck and success in all future endeavors.
