Following the Miss Universe pageant in Eilat, we were fortunate to be asked to accompany Miss Universe Japan, Juri Watanabe, on a tour to the Netafim R&D Center. The tour was hosted by our partners, Netafim Japan, with whom we operate an experimental greenhouse in Japan.

During the tour, Rona Orlicky, CEO of DryGair, took Watanabe to view DryGair in action in one of the center’s beautiful glasshouses. The two walked around the facility, discussing the future of horticulture, agtech and sustainability.

Watanabe, an avid activist, promotes women’s rights and sustainability in Japan, and focuses on achieving the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals. She was very interested to hear about advancements in horticulture and food production, and how they can affect our future.

It was an honor to spend the day together. We hope to continue to grow our partnerships and cooperation with the Japanese horticulture sector.
