Summing Up IPM Essen 2023
The annual IPM expo in Essen has come to an end. We would like to thank everyone who visited our booth, our partners, Royal Brinkman, and the expo organizers for this great event.
As one of the biggest annual horticulture industry events, IPM was both interesting and productive. It was great to see new technologies emerging in the sector, to meet the people behind them, and of course, to meet our colleagues around the world.
Energy Is Controlled Environment Agriculture’s Biggest Challenge
One thing that was obviously on everyone’s mind this year is energy. Energy prices have soared over the past couple of years. The uncertainty is leading growers of all sizes, crops, and growing facilities to look for ways to reduce their energy bill.
Fortunately, DryGair fits perfectly in this bracket, saving growers up to 70% on heating costs in commercial greenhouses and grow rooms. This led to a rise in interest in DryGair, coming from growers, distributors, and greenhouse manufacturers.
Expanding Partnerships and Cooperation
IPM is a great place to discuss future plans with partners and colleagues, including some our distributors – Royal Brinkman, who represent DryGair in most of Europe, and Hatec Baltic, our partners in Scandinavia.
One collaboration we’re excited about is a planned expansion of our cooperation with Belgian screen manufacturer, Phormium.
DryGair dehumidifiers and thermal screens complement each other perfectly. With DryGair reducing humidity in the greenhouse, it isn’t necessary to open windows or vents to release moisture. This is the main principle driving energy savings. So, using thermal screens to further insulate the facility improves efficiency, and helps to further reduce energy requirements.
