Calendar for Subsidies and Grants for Greenhouse Growers – Netherlands 2024

The Dutch government recently published a calendar for subsidies, grants, and other schemes to support greenhouse growers in 2024.

DryGair dehumidification systems may be eligible for subsidies and tax rebates, due to their ability to save energy, reduce CO2 emissions, and improve sustainability.

Subsidies and Grants for Dutch Greenhouse Growers

In order to help understand what scheme is most relevant for you, we put together a short summary of the government schemes you can utilize to install DryGair in your greenhouse in 2024.

Apply for a Tax Deduction for Energy-Efficient Assets (Whole Year)

This additional tax deduction (40%) is intended for energy-efficient assets and sustainable energy techniques. If your investment on the Energy List 2024, you can receive this tax deduction.

Fortunately, dehumidification systems for greenhouse horticulture are on the list, making DryGair eligible for this tax deduction.

Apply for the deduction via the Energy Investment Deduction (EIA).

Apply for an Investment Deduction for Environmentally Friendly Assets (Whole Year)

This investment deduction is intended for environmentally friendly assets and techniques from the Environmental List 2024.

As mentioned above, dehumidification systems for greenhouse horticulture are on the list, making DryGair eligible for this tax deduction.

Apply for the deduction via MIA\Vamil.

Apply for a Subsidy for Innovative Greenhouse Systems (April 11 – May 10)

This 40% subsidy is intended for innovative greenhouse systems or greenhouse energy systems that reduce CO2 emissions.

One important condition is that you participate in the CO2 scheme for greenhouse horticulture.

Apply for the subsidy via the Market Introduction of energy innovations in greenhouse horticulture (MEI).

Apply for a Subsidy for Energy-Saving Measures in the Greenhouse (April 11 – June 28)

This subsidy provides financing, up to 20%, for energy-saving measures in your greenhouses.

One important condition is that you participate in the CO2 scheme for greenhouse horticulture.

This subsidy is especially popular among greenhouse producers for DryGair installations.

Apply via the Energy Efficiency Greenhouse Horticulture (EG).

How DryGair Saves Energy

With DryGair in the growing facility, you can keep the vents, windows and screens closed during the night, or on humid or cold days, and treat humidity from inside. This lets you avoid unnecessary heat loss and retain all the heat from your heating system.

In comparison to heating and venting, insulating the greenhouse and using DryGair to control humidity during the night can save as much as 70% on energy, in all crops.

“DryGair is a sustainable solution for dehumidification, because of the energy savings and the reuse of water. We were able to save 40% on gas consumption in the department where the units ran. The energy savings we experienced was a leading factor when we chose to invest in a second series of ten additional DryGair units.” – Jac. Oudijk, gerbera producer

DryGair Eligible for Subsidies

Many producers in the Netherlands have already received subsidies and tax deductions for DryGair. Vegetable, flower, and nursery growers around the country may utilize some of these schemes to install DryGair, control humidity, save energy, and reduce CO2 emissions.
