Finland’s Greenhouse Sector Benefits from Advanced Dehumidification – Featured in HortiDaily

“The Finnish greenhouse sector is ready for DryGair’s dehumidification systems. The opportunities for energy savings are substantial, and the government is incentivizing growers to improve energy efficiency through significant subsidies,” says Matts-Erik Lindqvist, president of Hatec Baltic.

HortiDaily recently reported on DryGair’s impact on Finnish horticulture, and the country’s readiness to embrace advanced humidity control.

Finnish Growers Integrate DryGair

One satisfied customer is Patrik Sigg at Sven Sigg AB, the largest tomato producer in Finland. Sigg operates 60 DG-12 units in highly advanced tomato greenhouses in Närpes.

“Since using DryGair, the vegetable producer has witnessed substantial energy savings, reaching 50%, as well as 40% savings on CO2 enrichments. Altogether, Sigg estimates an ROI of less than 15 months on the DryGair investment.” says Lindqvist.

DryGair’s Technical Team Visits Finland to Optimize and Train Local Growers

“In order to assist local customers, DryGair’s technical team recently visited Finland. The visit was aimed at teaching local technicians on how to best maintain the units, as well as troubleshoot technical issues.”

“DryGair’s technicians not only fixed an issue that occurred but also helped in optimizing the units to improve their water extraction rates in the conditions found in that greenhouse, together with the growers who have a lot of experience growing in the demanding Finnish climate,” Lindqvist mentioned.

DryGair is distributed in Finland by Hatec Baltic, a veteran horticulture equipment supplier. For more information, please contact DryGair or Hatec Baltic.
