Indoor Growers Increasingly Investing in DryGair Dehumidifiers – Indoor Ag-Con 2023

Indoor Ag-Con 2023 in Las Vegas has come to an end. We had the pleasure of being represented by our partners, Bellpark Automation Solutions.

As the largest indoor horticulture expo, Indoor Ag-Con was very interesting. We met with many indoor and vertical farmers, learned about their operations, and discussed how to best control the climate in these facilities.

Indoor Growers Are Investing in Efficiency

Growing indoors is different from greenhouse cultivation. Many of these facilities sealed off and the climate conditions are completely controlled. This lets growers optimize their grows to the tee.

However, building and operating an indoor growing facility is expensive. Over the past years there have been a lot of investments in this field, and many high-tech facilities are currently being built.

One thing that many are focusing on in their builds, is efficiency. With large investments to recoup, and energy market fluctuations, the best way to ensure a profitable operation and quick ROI is to invest in efficient equipment that saves money over time.

Improving Cultivation and Saving Energy with DryGair

Many of the farmers and operators we met the convention were interested in DryGair as a way to reduce operational costs.

Using DryGair indoors fully controls humidity levels and creates uniform conditions, avoiding dew point condensation and preventing common molds and diseases.

By controlling the humidity with a dedicated and efficient dehumidifier, you can relieve your HVAC from having to perform this task, which it does very inefficiently, and at a high energy cost. In new facilities, growers that integrate both DryGair and HVAC install much smaller HVAC systems, saving both on construction and operational costs.

Indoor and vertical farms may very well be the future of our food production. But in order to do so, and remain profitable, it’s essential to invest in efficiency, and reduce operating costs as much as possible.
